the global refugee crisis.
You should join us.
It’s a hackathon! Inviting all data analysts, data scientists, data engineers, developers, visualization specialists and data storytellers to #HackABetterWorld, an event with USA for UNHCR and DonorsChoose.org, hosted by Airbnb. Over the course of a weekend, you will work in teams to address a series of challenges using data related to protecting and helping refugees who have been forcibly displaced by war, conflict and persecution. The event will take place in San Francisco from November 2 - 4, 2018.

About

Around the world, a record 68.5 million people have been forced to flee their homes due to war, conflict or persecution. Less than 1 percent of the world’s refugees are ever resettled, and those who are, often face challenges adjusting in their new home countries.
USA for UNHCR envisions a world without refugees. As the only organization dedicated to raise awareness and funds in the U.S. for the UN Refugee Agency, USA for UNHCR has raised nearly $200 million to help refugees in the past five years.
The Hive is the innovation lab of USA for UNHCR leading the application of data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning and emerging technologies to USA for UNHCR’s programming to change the conversation around the global refugee crisis in the United States.
